shaunwalton: Two male giraffe sharing an intimate moment. As strange as this sounds, this is very common among giraffe. Male giraffe have been observed in numerous studies to engage in very high frequencies of homosexual behavior and in some cases 9 out of 10 pairings occur between males. I watched this pair for almost thirty minutes as they ‘necked’ aggressively and then began to caress and court each other. To achieve a silhouette effect like this; in manual mode I took a meter reading off the bright background (sky), adjusted my exposure settings, focused, recomposed and took the picture. www.shaunwalton.com Facebook: shaun walton photography
